ÅVENT ABSTRACT

In this workshop, I will focus on one of the most important representatives of Chicana/o studies, Goria Anzaldua (1942-2004) and her most famous work Borderlands/La Frontera (1987). I will introduce her biography and then mention some of the most important aspects of her work. I will then distribute some excerpts from her Borderlands, and we will discuss the key themes and motifs that are perceptible in this work. I will ask the participants to compare her poems and ideas with other works written by Anglo-American authors belonging to different generations.
