ÅVENT ABSTRACT
The book has acquired different forms throughout the ages – tablet, scroll, paper, tablet – to name a few. With the advent of digital technologies, there is no denying that the book has been greatly influenced by them, and developed in many imaginative ways. This workshop that is organized within the context of my postdoctoral research will introduce the AR book as an alternative book form and the participants will have the chance to get familiar with a variety of AR texts that use different kinds of marker-based technology. Furthermore, participants will explore how digital overlays become part of the physical book, and experience the interactivity the AR book offers. This workshop invites the participants to take into consideration the perspective that AR offers, ponder on the nature of the book, and reflect on their own assumptions about it in the form of creative responses.
