Description

Students learn about the different syllabi that have appeared as the history of TEFL developed. For each syllabus they learn its features and the factors that determined the format it takes. They examine the implications and outcomes of using a particular syllabus. The hope is that students will be able to recognize what kind of syllabus the material they have to work with is from. Objectives of the course are that students will be able to: •design a basic syllabus •adapt an adopted syllabus to suit the teaching situation they are in •design material that fits with the syllabus they use Before enrolling in the level 4 course students should have completed Ling3-329 and Ling3-225C and Ling3-326C. Recommended reading: Is there a course textbook? YES Is there a list of readings? YES Assessment methods: FINAL EXAMINATION
