Emma Dafouz Milne

Emma Dafouz Milne is associate professor in the Department of English Language and Linguistics at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Since 2000 she researches and publishes specifically on Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) in secondary and tertiary settings, with special emphasis on teacher discourse. She has participated in a number of national and international projects on bilingual education, such as “A Scaffolding Framework for CLIL teacher Education”, or at present “ConCLIL: Conceptualising Content and Language Integrated Learning” together with Finish and Austrian universities. She is also coordinator of a research group on the impact of English-medium Instruction at university level in Spain and acts as consultant for regional governments in Spain. Her latest publications include work in the Journal of Bilingualism and Bilingual Education (2007) or titles such as CLIL across educational levels (2009, Richmond), and Integrating Content and Language in Higher Education, AILA Review 25 (in press, John Benjamins) with Ute Smit from Vienna University.
