The Hellenic Association for American Studies is based in Thessaloniki and was founded in 1990. The aim of the association is to promote the research, study and teaching of American civilization in Greece in the areas of humanities, social and applied sciences. The main means for realizing this purpose are: Participation in related international activities, especially the EAAS activities Publication of a newsletter Organization of regular conferences and other interdisciplinary meetings Publication of annual journal with emphasis on American Studies Creation of data bank and network to inform members about the progress of research in areas of their immediate interest.
